The start of the 94th '89er Parade on Saturday, April 22nd at noon, a B-25 Bomber will set off the celebration with a fly-over accompanied by a UH-60M Black Hawk.
The fly-over is set to be above 500 feet, however, all horses and other animals present should be prepared in advance with proper ear plugs and/or restraints in case the noise frightens them.
Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to get the best parking and the most optimum viewing areas.

All businesses in the downtown area of Guthrie are encouraged to wear their western wear and pioneer costumes during '89er week! Starting Tuesday, April 18th through Saturday, April 22nd, whether you are at work downtown or just going downtown to shop or do other business, everyone is welcome to participate in '89er Dress Up Days in Guthrie!

Great-granddaughter of Judith Carter Horton, the face of our 2023 commemorative button, Kimberly Johnson Wooden, was asked to be the 2023 ‘89er Parade Marshal, and she has graciously accepted. The "First In State" Fun Run is hosted by the cadets in the '89er Battalion, Guthrie High School JROTC. The Guthrie JROTC program is the first JROTC program in the State of Oklahoma, dating back to 1935. As a fun run, we encourage competitive runners, recreational runners as well as walkers; walk your dog, push a stroller or simply enjoy the fellowship of your friends and neighbors. Come early for the '89er Parade and cheer on the "First In State" Fun Runners! Bring your cowbells, horns, boom-boxes, and noise makers at 9:00 a.m. along the Fun Run route on Oklahoma Avenue. After the race, stay in place for the start of the '89er Parade, and enjoy the benefits of getting to the Parade route before the rush of the crowd. For the past couple of years, Guthrie's '89er Days Celebration has been without two of its most beloved traditions: The Chuck Wagon Feed, and the '89er Rodeo. Because of COVID quarantine issues, these two events had to be canceled, and they were greatly missed.
